It is important to know when you need to call it a day and quit the session. Knowing when to stop will mean a lot for your bankroll.

Basically you need to quit if you are tilting, you are tired because of long hours of poker, and if you have to do other stuff.

How can you tell if you are tilting? If you are losing and been feeling that you need to break even then you are tilting. You are also showing signs if you have this notion that your opponents are always bluffing. You could also be tilting if you are eager to get back in the game as soon as possible.

And how do you know that you had too much poker for the day? If you are dosing off at the poker table then you just had too long a session of poker. Ten hours of poker is also too much and experts say it is better to play shorter sessions rather than long ones. Another sign that you must be on the look out for is if you cannot pay attention to your opponents.

When you hear about double barrelling in poker, you just need to think that you are firing a gun twice in succession. You double barrel when you lead out the flop and also go ahead first on the turn. Basically, you double barrel when you raised before the flop, when you get a draw, or the board is quite ragged. Let us focus on the pre-flop scenario.

Preflop raise

If you plan to double barrel after doing a raise before the flop, you need to think of the amount of chips that you have , the stack of your opponents, and your position on the poker table.

Let us say you have a small pocket pair and another player calls your raise. In case the cards reveal K-A-5 and you have 6-6, then the best move will be to bet at least half to two thirds of the pot size. You need to take down the pot before you opponent tries to outplay you with the ace on the table. Pushing a sizeable bet will demonstrate some good strength.

In case your opponent calls, then wait for the next card. If you see a face card, then go try to bluff your way to the pot since your opponent will try to play you with a straight or two pairs. Make sure you push more chips, around ¾ of the pot.

When you are in a late position, having the same picture above, then double barrelling is even more advantageous. When the competition leads out, then the move might be out of the question. When they check, then by all means get in control and push them to the edge.

One of the largest international online poker rooms in the world is the party poke room. The site has umpteen players which increase manifold with each passing day because of the popularity of the site, incredible loyalty bonus program, excellent games, dazzling poker events and attractive promotions which successfully allure beginners and professional players.

The site has excellent fan following. Most of the feedbacks given by the players are taken in to consideration in order to make the site user-friendly and better. It has an edge over its competitors and it customer-centric approach has won many loyal players.

The software has been recently upgraded and it has become very easy for the players to view hand histories, statistics of poker tables and scores. Players can even take notes while playing the game. The graphics add life to the poker room. The fast and incredible software functions smoothly on the site. Some of the new and upgraded functions include live action preview, action replay feature, and enhance multi-table playing options. The software is available in other languages as well.

It is a great treat for all the players to play various games like Texas Holdem, Omaha and seven card stud game. Players can play no-limit, pot-limit and fixed-limit games on this amazing site.

The traffic on this website is great as compared to its peers. There are a lot of players involved in various games during the European peak hours. There are around nine thousand five hundred real money players during the peak hours. It has close to sixty thousand tournaments all the year round. This is one of the biggest reasons for players to register on this site. Their chance of earning money is magnified.

The impeccable customer service has helped in earning good reputation. Most of the queries are replied with sound answers. The support is offered in twelve diverse languages.

It is one of the most unique sites which proposes $6 million every month as reward money. The incredible and swift software facilitates the game play which I appreciate as an online poker blogger. It has great table lay out facilities and provides the statistical analysis of all the hands played on the site.

However the site does not allow players from USA to register. The updates take a lot of time to be uploaded on the site. One of the biggest disadvantage is that the registration design is missing.

In the long haul, the more time you play with these players, the more chips you will have at the end of the day.

Starting hands

There will be players who always get their favorite to start things off. Why will their favorites be like a Q-10 or a K-J? Still be thankful that these players are on our table and what you learn from them might be useful in certain situations. There is nothing bad with pocket aces.

There are also people who hate getting an A-A, J-J, or Q-A. You should expect some underbetting when they get what they “hate”. Most of the time they are also afraid of not playing these cards well, so they will overcompensate.

Skill over luck

There will be players who hold skills better than luck. Expect that they can easily tilt. Play some small pairs or connectors with them. Once you hit something, you will just watch them spin out of their balance and control. There will also be players who will share stories about bad beats and they are also very to put on tilt.

Human calculators

Understanding everything to the smallest decimal place can be the weakness of these poker players. Bet a big one so you will be able to wash away all the numbers about pot odds in their favor. Cross fingers that they don’t have kings or aces, and just watch their jaws drop.

Six-card stud:

Under this variant, each player receives six cards each. Some of these cards are up while others are “in the hole”.

A variation those this variant called “Alligator Stud” is initiated with one “in the hole” card alongside an upcard. The first betting round commences with two upcards.

Another variation called Sixty Four is initiated by one downcard, four upcards and one downcard. The betting round is initiated by each card being dealt face up.

Mississippi Stud:

The structure of this variant is very similar to that of Texas hold’em wherein the fixed limit of the concluding two round is double that of the beginning two. This being said, the “bring in” must be less than that of the limit of the first round.

After the conclusion of the first round, each player receives two upcards. After the conclusion of the second round, another upcard is dealt and the third round is initiated. Last but not the least; the concluding card is an upcard which leads to every player concluding with two downcards alongside five upcards. Consequently, the “seventh street round” is followed by the showdown.

Blind Stud:

Under this variant of poker, each card dealt to the players are downcards. Hence the “blind” part. This variant was very popular in California till about the mid 1980s. According to certain laws, a number of variants of poker were banned in California. However, Blind Stud was associated with draw poker (which was legal) as all the cards dealt are hidden.

Other Variations of poker:

A variant called the Option alley is played with five cards and is played with a high-low split along with a bonus round that is the twist round.

The Scandinavian stud is also played with five cards. In this variant, extra hand values are added to the game. Two to be exact.
English Stud is another variant of this game which is considered to cover a large number of other variants such as a game played with six cards that is, a six-card stud that is played with 1-4-1, along with a twist. This is also sometimes referred to as the six-card option.

In a variant called seven-card flip, even player in the game receives four downcards. It is up to him to choose the two cards he wants to turn up. Every player turns up these cards at the same time after the choice has been made.

Kentrel is a variant that also goes by the name “48” .This variant is played with seven cards. Each player receives four downcards after which every player is expected to cast off one card and make a choice from among the residual cards. This chosen card is then turned face up.

The Bitch is a variation of another poker variant called Chicago. Under this variant, every player is dealt a combination of cards, which consist of two downcards, four upcards and one downcard. The interesting part of the game is that the Queen of Spades is thought to hold the spot of the highest ranking Spade which is consequently followed by the Ace, King and so on.
